Step 1: Check Your Billing Records
Search Your Email or Account Records: Look for emails or receipts from the company you purchased your domain from. Keywords like domain registration or domain transfer can help.
Common Clue: Your domain provider is often the one you pay for domain renewals or related services.
Step 2: Use a Domain Lookup Tool
If billing records don't provide the answer, use an online domain lookup tool like ICANN's Lookup Service:
Visit the ICANN Lookup Tool:
Go to https://lookup.icann.org/.Search for Your Domain:
Type your domain name into the search box.
Select Domain, then click Submit.
Find the Registrar Information:
Scroll down to the Registrar Information section.
The registrar’s name is often listed here, which may also be your DNS provider.
Step 3: Check the Name Server (NS) Entries
If the registrar is not listed or unclear, use the Name Server (NS) information:
Locate the Name Server Entry:
Scroll to the Name Server section in the ICANN Lookup results.
Copy the first NS entry (e.g., ns1.example.com).
Perform a Nameserver Search:
Go back to the ICANN Lookup Tool homepage.
Paste the NS entry into the search box and only have the (e.g. .example.com) part of the domain.
Select Nameserver, then click Submit.
Identify the DNS Hosting Provider:
On the results page, look for the Registrar field.
This should list your DNS hosting provider (the organization managing the name server).
