Editing an Existing Content Block

Modified on Mon, 4 Nov, 2024 at 11:55 AM

1. From the Digital Workspace,  click on My Website and navigate to the page that you would to place your content on.

2. Find the content block you'd like to edit and select the Options drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner of the content, then select Edit.

Note: If there is no Edit option available, then the content block is likely Pre-Approved and can not be edited.

3. The Content Editor will open up with the following features:

  1. Toolbar: the section at the top of the editor that contains grouped menu buttons that grant you access to a number of functions. For a detailed breakdown of the toolbar.
  2. Editing Area: the space below the Toolbar where you can add text and pictures/videos. Tip: If you find that the Editing Area is too small to work within, hold the black triangle in the bottom right corner (just above the Submit for Approval button) to extend the length of the Content Editor.
  3. Context Menu: a small pop-up that appears upon right-clicking within the Editing Area. You can cut, copy and paste using the Context Menu.
  4. Elements Path: located at the bottom of the Content Editor. This feature displays HTML elements of the content.

4. If you would like you can also choose to add a content expiry time and/ or a disclosure message to the web content using the Content Expiry and Disclosures tabs.

5. When you are finished editing your content, you can either choose to:

  • Save As Draft: your content will be saved and you can continue editing it on a later date. The content status will become Draft.
  • Submit for Approval: you will submit what you have edited for approval and your content status will become Pending

Note: You may still make changes to the content block while it is a Pending state. If you edit it and Save As Draft, it will cancel the approval process. If you re-Submit for Approval, it will send only the most recent changes to Compliance.
