Transferring a domain to Digital Agent

Modified on Thu, 26 Mar at 10:52 AM

The Digital Agent team is able to take control of your domain, allowing DNS configuration to be managed by our team.

Before you can move a domain, steps must be taken to ensure a smooth transfer process.

  1. Check Eligibility:

    • Under ICANN rules, you cannot transfer a domain if it was registered or transferred within the last 60 days.

  2. Verify Your Admin Email:

    • Ensure the email address listed in your domain's WHOIS/Registrant contact info is one you can access. The authorization codes and confirmation links will be sent here.

  3. Unlock the Domain:

    • Find the "Domain Lock" or "Registrar Lock" setting in your dashboard and toggle it to Off or Unlocked. This allows other registrars to request the domain.

  4. Get the Authorization Code (EPP Code):

    • Request your Auth-Info or EPP Code. This is a unique string of characters that acts like a "password" for the transfer. Your current registrar is legally required to provide this within 5 days of your request.

Once an authorization code has been generated, please engage the Digital Agent team, with the following information:

  1. Your domain name
  2. The generated authorization code
  3. Your existing DNS records. In certain cases, records do not transfer between registrars.

After the authorization details have been shared, the Digital Agent team will request the domain be transferred. A confirmation email will be received.

Once the confirmation email is authorized, the domain transfer process should finalize automatically in the following 5-7 days.
