Formatting Your Text: Clearing Font Overrides

Modified on Mon, 4 Nov, 2024 at 2:42 PM

Depending on your environment, certain styling limitations may be automatically applied to your text to help maintain branding standards.

Some Toolbar options (such as Text Colour) either may not be available to you, or will not display as expected when previewing them on the website. Attempting to apply style formatting that has been disallowed by your marketing team may create unexpected results.

In order to ensure you are adhering to your environment's branding, it is recommended to always clear any font overrides and use the pre-existing Headings and styles provided by your Marketing team.

When you copy and paste text into the editor from another source (eg. Microsoft Word), it can carry over the formatting from its original location. This can override the default styling and cause formatting issues. You can tell if there are any overrides if the Elements Path in the bottom-left corner of the editor is showing one or more span tags.

Note: This can also be caused by applying formatting in the editor, such as attempting to change the Font Size.

In order to clear this, select the entire text and then click the Remove Formatting  icon in the Toolbar.

This will clear all existing formatting and reset it to the default styling set by the Marketing team. After doing so and submitting it for approval, it should show properly on the website.
