Summary

Release notes are essential documents that provide clients with detailed insights into the changes, enhancements, and updates applied to the Digital Agent platform. They serve as a crucial communication tool, informing clients about new functionalities, improvements, and other modifications that may be available to them.

Purpose:

The primary purpose of release notes is to ensure transparency and keep clients informed about the continuous development and enhancement of the Digital Agent platform. They help clients understand the value of the updates and how they might benefit from new features and improvements.

New Editor Improvements

Clear Styles

The “Clear All Styles” functionality within the new editor for Custom Content, tailored specifically for Advisors, Marketing, and Compliance users has been enhanced to simplify the formatting process by efficiently removing all applied text styles—such as bold, italics, fonts, colors, and sizes—from selected text blocks. Using the Redactor tool menu, you can now reset text styles with just one click, ensuring a clean and consistent format across your content.

This update is designed to improve your editing experience by saving time and reducing manual effort.

Layouts

Layout improvement for website rendering has been improved to allow better website options on content configuration.

With the new editor adding a section through layouts

Provides access to predefined formats below.

Adding alt text for links in the editor

The option to add an “Alt text” to a link is now provided by default through the new editor making it easier to stay WCAG Compliant.

Fullwidth Page Layout - Mandatory Pages - (Bedrock)

A full width template option has been added to the “Choose a Standard Page Template” selections.  The image below is a screen capture of the new selection option.

With the current selection, the mandatory page that is rendered below.

With the selection of “The 1 column”,  The following message will appear for the user when saving.

This will result in the content displayed across the whole width of the page and is available below.

This update allows you to toggle between the current default layout and a full-width page layout. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Switching Existing Pages

    • When switching an existing page from Layout A to the full-width page layout, you may need to adjust the content to ensure it displays as intended. This is because content alignment and design elements may shift to accommodate the new layout.

  2. Creating New Pages

    • For newly created pages, the default layout will remain the same as it is today. However, you’ll now have the option to select the full-width layout before adding content to the page, giving you control over the page design from the start.

This added flexibility empowers you to optimize your pages to suit your needs while maintaining a seamless user experience for your audience.

Mobile Banner View Port Enhancement (Bedrock)

The mobile banner on bedrock has been enhanced to support viewing on the following devices

  • iPhone 15: 393 x 852 px

  • iPhone 15 ProMax: 430 x 932 px

  • Moto G Stylus 5g 2023: 360 x 800 px

Addressing a rendering issue for these devices.

Site Level Favicon (Bedrock)

Today’s current functionality provides bedrock customers with the ability to have an environment level Favicon and this enhancement allows an override at the site level for  a custom domain favicon.   Allowing advisors to have additional differentiation through configuration.

To access the console: Navigate to the Digital Workspace, Settings, Settings Tab and Site

Use Case 1: The favicon upload UI will be situated on the Site tab under Settings module. If the Domain type ‘Default’ is selected, then the favicon upload will be disabled/grayed out and the environment level favicon will apply.  Current state capability.

Use Case 2: When the ‘Custom' domain type is chosen by the user, the favicon upload is enabled and the user is now able to upload their own favicon.

  • The alternative text is optional as Favicon doesn't need it for WCAG but has been left open for utilization.

  • This field will not be available for configuration under the “Accessibility Settings” under the Configuration within the Organization Structure.

  • The favicon will need to flow through Compliance for approval if workflow is turned on and is visible through compliance, similar to other workflow fields. This would be displayed in the comparison view and detailed view of that website.(similar reference as custom banner)

  • Regardless of locale, if a favicon is uploaded it gets applied to the other language by default - there can only be one favicon as it is language independent.

Error Message:

  • English: The size of the favicon is incorrect The maximum size of a favicon is 32 px wide by 32 px high

  • French: La taille du favicon est incorrecte La taille maximale d'un favicon est de 32 px de large sur 32 px de haut

Special Note (Customer Action)

This capability has been enabled by default in your UAT (User Acceptance Testing) environment.

To have this capability activated in your production environment, please ensure a formal request is submitted when approving the release.

AODA (Bedrock)

Non interactive content is receiving keyboard support improvement

The following widgets have been updated with the following expected behavior. The tab focus would not occur on the image, the name or the biography content. It would only be on items that are clickable (Ex. phone numbers, email address, social media links.)

  • Team member profile

  • Pre approved profile

  • My Biography

  • My Team

Virtual Theme Japanese Footer Support

Virtual Theme support for Footer management is available for clients that have additional language packs.  This has been enhanced to add Japanese to those other languages already supported (English, French, Chinese, Spanish)

API Enhancement

The API providing profile information has been enhanced to provide French label information for that local.

Example English - Telephone  / French - Téléphone

Compliance Improvement

Validation rule introduced to ensure mandatory fields cannot be submitted while empty with a space added. Users had discovered this and compliance could not see any changes between old and new content versions as a result.

DashLoad: Supercharged Website Load and Performance (Bedrock)

The UAT environment for bedrock customers will be enabled for Dashload,  This feature will not be enabled into production during this release.

Why the change?

  • Improving site page rendering performance

What is changing?

  • Digital Agent has been rendering site pages in real time to generate the content when requests are made by a site visitor.  Digital Agent will be moving to a publishing model for website pages.  Most changes will be captured at various points in the application.  Some changes such as moving items around on a page which don’t need to go through compliance again will require to be published.

Timing of changes?

  • There will continue to be a delay between the publishing start to the time content appears on the website and will continue to be between 10-20 minutes.

User Experience?

  • The advisor will have the ability to publish a single site page at a time if required.

  • As a client admin a user will have the ability to publish the whole site.

Impact of Dashload?

  • Tests have been performed with content against sample production environments comparing it with the same content in UAT with Dashload.  Below is a comparison of the results.  Digital Agent has been moving to a publishing model instead of generating content dynamically and, as a result, this translates to a significant performance improvement on page speed.

DashLoad: Advisor Experience Change

In most cases the process for our clients has not changed but there are a few situations where it may be necessary to publish the page.  At the top of the page content there is a “Re-publish” button in order to do so.  In the case of feature changes or content that is approved through compliance the re-publishing is processed automatically without any user intervention.

This is the sample screen for “Re-publish”

DashLoad: Client Admin Experience Change

There may be instances that Marketing needs to “Re-publish” an entire website and this can be achieved with a new option under the Admin HQ - Hub Manager - in the dropdown for the website there is the option to “Dashload Website” which republish all pages for the entire site.
