Connector Enhancement
As regulations continue to change, so does Digital Agent and with the introduction of compliance on information collection specifically with Bill 64 in Quebec, Digital Agent is enabling customers to introduce 3rd party connectors into platforms that provide Cookie Compliance capabilities.
What this means is that Digital Agent will have the capability to add a connector to platforms that need to introduce a Javascript into each website hosted on Digital Agent.
Use Case: Add a connector
Navigate to the Organizational Groups.
Click on the new “Connectors” button beside Configuration.
The section to create a connector will appear.
Fill in the appropriate information to create a new connector, Title, Enablement and Javascript Content.
Note:
The Title of the connector is to be used for a user to understand the connector reference in the future and has no impact on the functionality.
The Javascript is provided by the 3rd party application that a connector is being applied to. . This javascript will be added to the Header for all websites under that organization structure.
Use Case 2: Edit a connector
Select the existing connector from the list.
Click on the “Edit” button.
Make the desired changes and save.
Use Case 3: Disable a Connector
Select the existing connector from the list.
Click on the “Edit” button.
Uncheck the “Enable the connector” flag and save changes.
How to validate on the website
If a user wishes to check that the Javascript is present that has been added as a connector.
Open Chrome
Visit a desired website that is within the org structure for the connector that was added or modified.
Navigate to the 3 vertical dots
Select More Tools
select Developer Tools
Select Element
Under the Header you will see the component that has been added through the Digital Agent interface. It may take 5-10 minutes for that connector to appear as the site changes are being published.
Cookie Compliance Customer Action
For customers that enable a cookie compliance connector of their choice. There is an additional step that needs to occur in order for the websites to be compliant within Digital Agent. Veriday will need to configure the collection of information in Google Analytics to comply with the customer solution.
What needs to be provided through the Enterprise Marketing Portal?
Which cookie should Veriday utilize for rejection of cookie tracking?
What value in the cookie will notify on a “Deny” of acceptance of cookie tracking?
What will happen is that Veriday will configure the data collection of Google Analytics to not collect any information on a Deny
